  If you have the option of using M42 lenses with your camera, don't even think twice on getting one of those for your collection. It features one of the best lenses ever created for 50mm, and simply an almost imposible to beat building quality. I got mine for about 40$, and it competes with AF lenses over 1K$. For Takumars, always look for the Super-Multi-Coated, or SMC lenses, as they give much more contrast and color quality. Takumar also counts with other lenses that are considered on the top crest even these days. The only drawback is the full manual operativity, but I wonder how much of a drawback that is.
