About Geavity

1. What is Geavity? Why does the world need Geavity?
   
   Geavity is the first social site focused on photography gear. Using Geavity, you can create gear profile, see what your friends are using, get and give recommendations for what to use and buy and even share your opinion on a gear with friends and the Geavity community.
   
   
2. Is Geavity free?
   
   Yes, Geavity is free for now. We plan to introduce PRO accounts in the future as well as some limited advertisement to non registered users.
   
   
3. Why are you in still in Alpha?
   
   We have to many features and things that we want to give the community, we felt the Geavity now is just the tip of the iceberg!
   
   

Using the site

1. How do I sign up?
   
   Click this link to sign up, fill up the required information and you will get an email providing you a link which you need to click in order to verify your account. After verification, you will be able to start using your account.
   
   
2. I forgot my password. What should I do?
   
   Click this link here and type in your email address or username and the password will be sent your registered email.
   
   
3. How do I start adding gear?
   
   Click on the "Add New Gear" button, browse to or search your gear, add the desired information, select and image and the gear will be added into your profile.
   
   
4. I can't find my gear in your database. What can I do? Can I add it myself?
   
   Please click here to suggest new gear to our database, we will notify you once we have added the gear into our database (usually in 24hrs or so).
   
   
5. How do I rearrange the gear on my profile page?
   
   You just need to drag and drop the top shaded part of the gear's thumbnail to move it around.
   
   
6. How do I fave my gear?
   
   Just click on the grey star to fave it. (it'll be blue if it's already faved)
   
   
7. How do I get my gear on my blog or MySpace?
   
   Follow the widget link on the profile page to generate an image signature or gear flash slideshow.
   
   
8. What is a tag?
   
   Tags are keywords you type in to describe your gear. Tags can be used to search gear and to link gear to the images in flickr or other photo sharing sites.
   
   
9. What are 'comments'?
   
   You can add comments to your friends' profiles and to individual gear. You can give recommendations, share your experience, ask a questions, etc.
   
   
10. What browser do you support?
    
    We support Firefox 2.0, Internet Explorer 6 & 7, and Safari 3.
    
    
11. How should I rate my gear?
    
    You can only rate your gear if you own them. You can rate the performance, quality and value for money of each gear.
